superhero fans, virtual reality may be just another superpower. And it is
indeed. The ability to immerse others in your self-created world and convince
them that things are possible, imaginable and even tangible, has never been
greater. VR technology is developing fast enough to make us feel
the pressure of a new zeitgeist that apparently moves in two opposite
directions. On the surface the need for illusions, to alleviate the pain of
absurd life situations, frustrations, the crumbling and shifting sands of worn
out social systems that lead us to evasion, drugs and all kinds of meaningless
entertainment. But on the other hand, beneath the surface, I sense that a great
amount of people is searching new life paths, more personal, more fulfilling
and coherent with their abilities and passions. So, as with any other great
power, when VR is put into our hands it comes with a tag that says “great responsibility”. It
comes with the potential choice of being truly creative, truly innovative and
constructive. As Abraham Maslow would put it, it could be a tool for
self-actualization. We often see crap movies with huge budgets making epic FX
sequences that last almost all the two hours. But when the movie ends people
could say: Did you understand what was going on? In some cases, senseless
characters, devoid of real interest, poor performances and lack of story
sentence the movie to failure. So, for design it can be the same, if we do not
keep up our conceptual level to the opportunities given. Sometimes we need to
turn back to the basics of life, learn to read and write, then create a
compelling story and then, only then it will deserve to have some epic

und konsequentere Lebensstile, befriedigender und die mehr zu tun haben mit

die virtuelle Realität in unsere Hände gelegt wird kommt es mit einem Etikett
wo steht: "große Verantwortung." Es kommt mit der potenziellen Wahl

buildings, vehicles, outrageous forms that amuse the eye is perfectly natural
when not long ago we were bound to the limits of 2D representation through ink
and paper or to the slow and full of sacrifice world of unassisted
craftsmanship. 3D technology including 3D printing and VR technologies, have a
liberating effect that also has its growing pains in the competitive mind, but
on the other hand, enhances the potential for collaboration and problem solving
in graceful ways, like in no other time in history. We are indeed very lucky to

To me, the advent of virtual reality (VR) technologies will propel the living and reliving of experience stages, from being fed up with superficiality, to gain dominion over certain internal forces such as emotions and overactive mind activity. VR can accelerate experience to such extent that humans can awake sooner to more deep and meaningful stages of experience in their reality. This -potentially- can bring much joy and freedom to people, much opportunity to share and communicate between themselves and to share ideas and experiences. The amount of information that can be received and-or given through VR experiences far exceeds the capabilities of mere language and abstraction. La realidad virtual ofrece mayores prestaciones en cuanto a flexibilidad y efectividad en costes, además de trasmitir sensaciones.<br />

"El sector inmobiliario hoy en día, y tras haber hablado con numerosas promotoras y agentes inmobiliarios alemanes y españoles, sigue siendo muy tradicional en los métodos comerciales y de publicidad en ambos países. Quizás sea por ser un negocio "conservador", los directivos prefieren ir a lo seguro, igual a lo que se supone que debería ser una inversión inmobiliaria. En las últimas burbujas inmobiliarias muchos inversores se quemaron los dedos por lo que no quieren asumir riesgos. La impresión que me he llevado en varias ocasiones es, "mejor que los demás arriesguen, si sale bien, nosotros lo adoptaremos pero no queremos ser los que hemos apostado y perdido. ¿Por qué cambiar un caballo ganador?" Für mich wird die Einführung der Technologien um die virtuelle Realität das Erlebnis der verschiedenen Stadien der menschlichen Erfahrung immer wieder projizieren, ausgehend von einer Oberflächlichkeit, und die Herrschaft gewinnen über gewisse innere Kräfte wie Emotionen und den hyperaktiven Geist. Die virtuelle Realität kann das Erlebnis bis zu dem Punkt beschleunigen, dass die Menschen schneller auf tiefere und bedeutungsvollere Erfahrungsstufen der Realität reagieren. Dadurch besteht das Potential den Menschen große Freude und Freiheit zu vermitteln. Darüber hinaus kann es Möglichkeiten bieten zur Kommunikation und dem Teilen von Ideen und Erfahrungen. Die Menge an Informationen die durch Erfahrungen mit der virtuellen Realität empfangen und / oder weitergegeben werden können, sind weitaus größer als die Möglichkeiten der bloßen Sprache und Abstraktion, wie der Name unserer Firma sagt, "immersive" (wirklichkeitsnah). Die Tatsache, dass die Menschen öfters sprachlos bleiben, hat mit der lebensechten Erfahrung zu tun die über Worte und Beschreibungen hinausgeht. Das Potenzial besteht im Einbinden der Emotionen sowie das Teilen von Wissen durch eine virtuelle Erfahrung die hoffentlich Freude bereiten, sowie tief sein wird und gut gemeint ist. In der Tat könnte es wirklicher sein als man glaubt. La compañía ve esto como una innovación de marketing, pero creemos que, sobre la base de un ejemplo real de reserva mencionado por el Sr. Friemuth, y nuestra visión de la realidad virtual en el turismo, que el potencial aún no se ha explotado plenamente. Cuando la familia llegó al hotel, aunque se encontró con un edificio igual a la descripción en el folleto, el hotel no cumplía el "look and feel" que se habían esperado, es decir, debido a la ausencia del “feel good” factor, el padre solicitó a TUI ser transferidos a un alojamiento diferente, donde pasarían los 10 días de vacaciones en un entorno más "agradable". Dentro de 2 horas, con un costo adicional, la familia fue trasladada a otra propiedad de TUI. Este es un servicio que ni Airbnb ni portales de hoteles ofrecen. TUI dispone de un concepto de atención al cliente muy cercano a diferencia de algunos competidores. Sin embargo, las empresas de turismo podrían evitar este tipo de situaciones, reduciendo el potencial de insatisfacción de los clientes (y de retroalimentación negativa) y los costos que surgen, mediante la implementación de una utilización selectiva de la realidad virtual en el punto de venta. Análogamente, este argumento se aplica a los hoteles, en general, que deseen poner de relieve sus normas de calidad y tratar de diferenciarse aún más de sus competidores. Los costos de producción de contenidos de RV son relativamente marginal - fotos y videos deben actualizarse periódicamente, de todas formas, entonces en lugar de 2D se toman fotos esféricas 360º y si desea ofrecer a sus clientes un recorrido virtual a continuación, fotos 3D 360º son posibles. TUI Group possessed 2 years ago, when he began to manage the marketing of the company, more than 250 brands, was and is leader in a number of European markets (Logo recognition over 70%), e.g. Germany, Scandinavia, Holland, Belgium and Great Britain. In Germany, TUI is even better known compared to brands such as Apple, Starbucks or Mercedes Benz. Due to his former activities as a marketing manager at Vodafone, Mr. Friemuth brought plenty of rebranding experience onboard TUI.</span></div>

In any case, he could by means of thoughtful, well planned steps (eg. Rebranding rollout, with the slogan, "Discover your smile", began as a test in the Netherlands) gain valuable experience, and significantly reduce the cost of the rebranding through early advertising placements. This helped TUI when further rolling out the rebranding in other countries, squeezing advertising costs by about 50% (in Spain, their airport ads were highly successful in creating corporate identity and were later emulated at other tourist destinations). The Netherlands are characterized, among other things, by an established online market in holiday bookings in contrast to Germany, where around 80% of all holiday trips are still handled by “brick-and-mortar” branches.</span></div>

Reservations can be booked offline or online (mobile as well as PC) directly and indirectly with TUI; travelers are transported in TUI buses, airplanes and cruise ships to their holidays and accommodated by local staff at destination in TUI lodging, ie. the whole value chain is controlled by the company. The advantages are much closer customer relationships, guaranteeing a coherent brand-specific quality, changes to bookings (e.g. hotel does not meet customer expectations) or ensure repatriations in an emergency (like last year in Tunisia by TUI UK), just to name a few. Intensive supervision allows the company to better meet customer demands. Individual TUI brands cover the increasingly more specific segments, from families to singles, young couples and retirees or activities-related travel, e.g., cruises, yachting/ sailing, canoeing or even snow-related experiences.</span></div>

The company sees this as a marketing innovation, but we believe, based on a real booking example mentioned by Mr. Friemuth, and our vision of VR in tourism, that the potential has not yet been fully exploited. Virtual reality arouses feelings, just like leisure travel through your experiences. Unlike newcomers Airbnb or Booking.com, the assets are owned by TUI, who can therefore design their desired online presence. Hotels are indeed partially presented through 2D 360º videos (not necessarily VR!) on the Internet, but in fact, all TUI accommodations could use VR as a powerful sales weapon, depicting one room for each category available in the respective hotels, as well as presenting hotel facilities (eg. Lobby, restaurant, children's playground, gardens, pool area, beach, rooftop terrace …) letting 360º VR photos or videos come into full play and charming potential clients. Customers receive a comprehensive insight into the facilities, thereby avoiding the booking of accommodations that do not suit their tastes. Specifically, Mr. Friemuth mentioned the case of some friends, a family with kids, where the mother booked a family holiday with TUI. When the family arrived at the hotel, although it met the description in the brochure, the hotel did not fulfill the expected "look and feel", ie. due to the lacking "Feel Good" factor, the father asked TUI for a transfer to a different accommodation, where they would spend the 10 vacation days in a more "pleasant" environment. Within 2 hours, at an additional cost, the family was relocated to another TUI property. This is a service that neither Airbnb nor hotel portals offer. TUI has a positive, close customer care concept unlike some competitors. Nevertheless, tourism companies could avoid such situations, potential customer dissatisfaction (and negative feedback) and costs that arise, by implementing a targeted use of VR at the point-of-sale. Analogously, this argument applies to hotels in general, who wish to highlight their quality standards or seek to differentiate themselves further from competitors. The costs of producing VR content are relatively marginal - pictures and videos should be updated regularly anyway, instead of 2D you take 360º spherical photos and if you wish to offer customers a walk-through, then 3D 360º photos are possible. Such content can be efficiently managed centrally and locally, through our hardware and operating system-agnostic VR Content Management Platform.</span></div>

Hürden, insbesondere finanzieller Natur, da der Konzern zu seinem Eintritt
angeschlagen war. Dennoch konnte er mittels durchdachter, genau geplanter
Schritte (zB. Rebranding Rollout, mit dem Slogan, "Discover your
smile", began als Test in den Niederlanden) wichtige Erfahrungswerte
sammeln, und die Kosten für das Rebranding durch frühzeitige Werbeschaltungen
signifikant senken. Dies half TUI beim weiterem Roll-out des Rebranding in

Urlaubsunternehmen bietet TUI einige Vorteile gegenüber Mitbewerbern oder
separaten Flug- und Unterkunftsbuchungen. Die Reservierungen werden offline,
bzw. online (mobil wie auch am PC) direkt bei TUI gebucht, Reisende mit TUI
Busen, Flugzeugen und Kreuzfahrtschiffen in Ihren Urlaub transportiert und vor
Ort von TUI Lokalpersonal in TUI Unterkünften untergebracht, dh. die ganze Wertschöpfungskette
wird vom Unternehmen kontrolliert. Die Vorteile sind eine viel engere
Kundenbeziehungen, die es erlaubt, eine einheitliche markenspezifische Qualität
zu bieten, Umbuchungen (Hotel entspricht nicht den Erwartungen des Kunden) oder
im Ernstfall Repatriierungen vorzunehmen (wie letztes Jahr in Tunesien durch
TUI Großbritannien). Intensive Betreuung ermöglicht dem Unternehmen besser auf
die Kundenbedürfnisse einzugehen. Einzelne TUI Marken decken die immer
spezifischer werdenden Segmente ab, von Familien, zu Singles, junge Paare als
auch ältere Jahrgänge oder Aktivitäten bezogene Reisen, beispielsweise
Kreuzfahrten, Yachten/Segeln, Kanu oder auch Schneeerlebnisse. </span></span><br />

Realität werden gerade einzelne <b>Filialen</b> mit VR Brillen ausgestattet, sowie VR Inhalte beim <b>Yacht Charter</b> erfolgreich eingesetzt. VR
Inhalte, die über dieses Medium abgespielt werden, sind primär Urlaubsziel- und
Hotelansichten. Das Unternehmen sieht dies als Marketing Innovation allerdings glauben
wir, aufgrund eines im Vortrag von Herrn Friemuth angesprochenen Beispiels und
unserer Vision von VR im Tourismus, dass hier der Rahmen bei weitem noch nicht
voll ausgeschöpft ist. Virtuelle Realität erweckt Gefühle, genauso wie
Urlaubsreisen, mit Ihren Erlebnissen. Im Gegensatz zu Newcomern wie Airbnb oder
Booking.com stehen die Assets im Besitz von TUI können daher Ihre Onlinepräsenz
beliebig gestalten. Hotels werden zwar teilweise über 2D 360º Videos im
Internet vorgestellt, doch könnten ALLE TUI Unterkünfte VR als Verkaufswaffe
einsetzen in dem ein Zimmer der verschiedenen Zimmertypen in den jeweiligen
Hotels, sowie Einrichtungen (zB. Lobby, Restaurants, Kinderspielplatz,
Gartenanlage, Poolbereich, Strand, Dachterrasse...) über 360º VR Fotos oder
auch Videos, Ihre Reize voll ausspielen. Kunden erhalten einen umfangreicheren
Einblick in die Hotelausstattung, vermeiden dadurch das Buchen von
Unterkünften, die ihrem Geschmack nicht zusagen. Konkret wurde von Herrn
Friemuth der Fall von einer befreundeten Familien angeführt, wo die Mutter
einen Familienurlaub bei TUI buchte. Als die Familie im Hotel ankam entsprach
zwar das Hotel der Beschreibung im Prospekt, allerdings nicht dem erwarteten
„Look & Feel“, dh. aufgrund des ausbleibebenden „Feel Good“ Faktors, bat
der Vater TUI um eine erfolgreiche Umbuchung um die 10 Urlaubstage in einem
„angenehmeren“ Rahmen zu verbringen. Innerhalb von 2 Stunden wurde, gegen
Zahlung eines Aufpreises, die Familie in einem anderem Hotel untergebracht.
Dies ist ein Service den Airbnb oder auch Hotelportale nicht leisten können. TUI
verfügt über eine positive, engere Kundebetreuung im Gegensatz zu manchen
Konkurrenten. Das Touristikunternehmen könnte solche Situationen und Kosten die
dadurch entstehen, mittels eines noch gezielteren Einsatzes von VR am
Point-of-Sale, vermeiden. Analog gilt dieses Argument für Hotels im Allgemeinen,
die Ihre Qualitätsmerkmale weiter hervorheben, bzw. differenzieren wollen. Die
Kosten für Herstellung von VR Inhalten sind vergleichsweise marginal (Fotos und
Videos sollten sowieso regelmäßig aktualisiert werden), und deren Verwaltung
kann durch Einsatz unserer effizienten VR Content Management Plattform zentral
als auch dezentral, hardware- sowie operating systemagnostisch, gemanagt
werden.</span></span><br />

Fue nuestra primera vez y considerando la calidad de los ponentes, un evento recomendable. Las ponencias trataron la realidad española del capital riesgo, sobre todo en fases tempranas, las distintas alternativas a la hora de conseguir financiación para una start-up, la relación posterior entre emprendedores e inversores, el apoyo de ENISA al sector de las start-ups (según estudios científicos, el apoyo estatal como co-inversor es fundamental, incluso en Israel, la aclamada “Start-up Nation”), los criterios de inversión o la inversión de alto impacto (social). Un tema relativamente novedoso y que cada vez se está desarrollando más, sobre todo en las economías más grandes, es el “media for equity”, es decir, empresas de medios que ofrecen publicidad o cobertura mediática por una participación en la empresa. En España existe hasta la fecha un fondo de capital riesgo del sector de medios, Media Digital Ventures. Definitivamente, #SmartMoney2016 fue una buena oportunidad de hacer networking y lo recomendamos para cualquier start-up española.</span></span></div>
